Bagel Thins

Nicely timed with my weight loss challenge, I’m now participating in a BzzCampaign for Thomas’ Bagel Thins.  Bagels have long been one of my favorite things to eat but they’re not the healthiest breakfast choice.  In fact, despite them being something I love, I can’t remember the last time I had an actual bagel, for that very reason.

See? Skinny bagels for those of us who want to be, well, skinny.

Bagel thins are exactly what they sound like – thin bagels.  Each serving of Bagel Thins is 110 calories, which is about the same as one piece of toast.

They come in a few flavors, but I’ve only tried wheat so far.  I’m not a cream cheese fan, so jam or butter is usually what I use as a topping.  The first time I tried them I tried them with jam.  It was actually really good.

The second time I had one I used butter (well, Smart Balance Light, actually, but I pretend it’s butter).  I was a little put off that the butter wasn’t really melting on the bagel.  I don’t like the taste of unmelted butter, or unmelted fake butter, in this case.  I think that’s because it’s so thin – maybe the butter doesn’t have anywhere to go?

At the end of the day, I thought they were good and I don’t really feel bad about the 110 calories.  Definitely a nice alternative to traditional bagels.  For more info, check out Thomas’ Facebook page.

New BzzCampaign: Tom’s of Maine

Seems like it has been a while since I talked about a BzzCampaign!  I recently agreed to participate in a BzzCampaign for Tom’s of Maine toothpaste.

Sean and I almost exclusively buy Crest toothpaste, but Tom’s promises fresh breath, cavity protection and everything else I would want in a toothpaste but using only natural ingredients.

Tom's of Maine toothpaste

I’ve been using the toothpaste for a few days now and have been happy overall with the results.  I have noticed the texture is a bit thinner than what I’m used to, but not enough to be considered too thin or anything like that.

The packaging promotes “long-lasting” affects from using the toothpaste.  I haven’t been able to notice whether it lasts longer than my regular toothpaste – I think for that I’ll switch back and forth between the two brands to try to determine which lasts longer.  Stay tuned…

UPDATE: CoverGirl Blast BzzCampaign

I apologize it’s been a little while since my last CoverGirl Blast update.  First of all, I love the lipgloss!  It’s not sticky, which is something of which lipglosses are often guilty.  And, while it isn’t “flavored,” it has a sweet sort of smell.

I was really excited about the eye shadow, but, truth be told, it broke after only using it once (!).  I don’t know what happened – the packaging is made in such a way that it can’t twist itself up like some lipsticks – so it’s not that.  It broke at the base like a lipstick would.  BUT, even though it broke, I think I would be willing to purchase one.  The one time I was able to use it – although I had in no way perfected the technique – I liked it.

Here’s a quick video to give you a better idea of the how-to:

BABIES!

*Before I start this post, let me first preface by saying no, I do not have a baby.  No, I am not going to have a baby any time soon. However, YES, I’m fascinated by & love babies.  That is why I have chosen to talk about the new documentary, BABIES.*

Anyone who knows me knows I love babies.  The sociology minor still in me is fascinated by how different cultures behave & view the behaviors of others.  We seem so drastically different but really have so much in common.

Still don’t “get it”?  This trailer is what got me hooked:

BABIES is a new documentary following the first year of 4 babies from around the world.  I’m fascinated by not only babies in & of themselves (who isn’t?), but also how different cultures choose to raise their babies.  What is normal in one cultural may be completely abnormal in another.

I’m a BzzAgent who received information about the BABIES documentary to review & discuss.  My opinion is my own.  You can learn more about BzzAgents and BzzCampaigns at www.bzzagent.com.

Bzz! Another Update on the BzzCampaign

To recap, I received my BzzKit for L’Oreal Lash Boosting Technology back on December 21.  I then started using both the L’Oreal Lash Boosting Mascara & L’Oreal Lash Boosting Serum.  While I didn’t think the mascara was necessarily made for my lashes, I liked the idea of the serum and continued to use it. Below is a picture of me – *gasp!* – without makeup – showing what I look like.  Is there a difference?  You tell me…

Lashes: Week 3

Well…first of all it’s clear the lighting was different for the first two images, but try to look beyond that.  Come to think of it, I actually look more tan now, but that’s besides the point…

Do I feel as though my lashes are fuller?  I think so – the pictures speak for themselves.  Do I think I lose less lashes when I take off my eye makeup?  No, but I’m still hoping that happens (or stops happening, I should say).  I haven’t been using it all that long in the grand scheme of things.  I think the next week or two will decide whether or not it will work for me. It’s funny.  If you just asked me if I thought my lashes were fuller, I’d likely say “no,” but when I look at the pictures I think they are.

Original Lashes

To answer the question everyone’s been asking: No.  My eyes haven’t changed color.  I really think that’s only with the prescription.  I would absolutely stop using the product if I thought that was happening.  call me vain but I like my green eyes. 🙂

Also, in case you didn’t catch it the first time around: I’m a BzzAgent who received this kit for free to test and talk about.  My opinion is my own.  You can learn more about BzzAgents and BzzCampaigns at www.bzzagent.com.

Update: BzzCampaign Status

It’s been just over a week since I started using L’Oreal Lash Boosting Serum & L’Oreal Lash Boosting Mascara.  I haven’t seen any real difference in my lashes from the serum, but, as I said, it’s only been a week.

I’ve been using the mascara throughout the last week, as well, but am not sure I like it.  It does an amazing job of creating longer lashes, but it’s harder to use it to create fuller lashes, which is really what I wanted from it.  I’ve been trying to manipulate the mascara to make it so my lashes looked fuller instead of longer but it itsn’t as easy as it should be.  The difference between this photo & the previous photo I took before I started the campaign is incredible – however, remember the first image featured me without makeup – just bare lashes – & this picture has me with mascara.

Lashes with L'Oreal Double Extend Lash Boost Mascara

So far, I think this may be best suited for people with shorter lashes.  Mine are already on the longer side, just not as full as I would like.  For now, I’ll keep trying to use the serum at night & the mascara to try to create fuller lashes, instead of lashes that are just longer.
